Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation
Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) is a private university in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, established in 1993 as the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) in response to Malaysia's IT-professional shortage. APU evolved through university college status (UCTI, 2004) into a fully fledged university and now operates from an 11.7-acre urban campus inside Technology Park Malaysia, less than 16 km from the iconic Petronas Twin Towers.
APU is ranked in the Top 2% globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026 (=597) and in the Top 150 in Asia (=147). It is the first and only Malaysian university to achieve QAA UK Accreditation, and the Ministry of Higher Education tracer study reports 100% graduate employability.
Programmes are heavily focused on technology — Computer Science, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Computer Games Development, Engineering, FinTech, plus strong Business, Accounting, Actuarial, Design and Psychology schools. Specialist labs include Cyber Security, AI, IoT, Games and FinTech.
