American University in Dubai
American University in Dubai (AUD) is a private, non-sectarian institution of higher learning established in 1995 and located in Dubai Media City, United Arab Emirates. Founded by Elias Bou Saab in partnership with American Intercontinental University, AUD was created to bring an American-style higher education model to the Persian Gulf region.
AUD operates six academic divisions: the School of Business Administration, the School of Engineering, the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication, the School of Architecture, Art and Design, the School of Arts and Sciences, and the Graduate School of Education. Its engineering school was established in 2001 in partnership with Georgia Institute of Technology.
The university holds dual accreditation: in the United States by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), and in the UAE by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. AUD is ranked in the QS World University Rankings (around 678 in 2026).
