Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is a public research university in Auckland, New Zealand. Established as a university in 2000 — though its origins trace back to the Auckland Technical School founded in 1895 — AUT has grown to become one of New Zealand's leading universities, with approximately 25,000 students.
