The DAVE School — Digital Animation and Visual Effects School
The DAVE School (Digital Animation and Visual Effects School) is a specialized digital media institution located on the backlot of Universal Studios Florida in Orlando. Founded in 2000, the school operates from Soundstage 25 — making it one of the very few film and animation schools physically embedded inside a working Hollywood production studio. The DAVE School focuses on intensive, industry-driven certificate and diploma programs in Visual Effects Production, Game Production, and 3D Animation.
In 2023 The DAVE School became part of Northbridge University, expanding its credential offerings to include BFA degrees in Digital Filmmaking with Visual Effects and Game Production tracks alongside the original short-form certificates. Programs are project-based and taught by working industry professionals — alumni have credited on major Hollywood films, AAA games, and broadcast productions.
The DAVE School curriculum centres on production pipelines used by major VFX houses and game studios — Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Unreal Engine, ZBrush, Substance, and after-effects toolchains.
