Domus Academy
Domus Academy is a private postgraduate design school in Milan, founded in 1982 as Italy's first postgraduate design school. Established by the Mazzocchi family of Editoriale Domus during Milan's rise as a global design capital, the school was shaped by Italian masters including Ettore Sottsass, Alessandro Mendini, Andrea Branzi, Denis Santachiara and Philippe Starck, who lectured and led workshops in the early years.
The campus is located at Via Carlo Darwin 20 in Milan's Tortona Design District, alongside NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) — both schools belong to the Galileo Global Education group since 2018 (previously Laureate Education, 2009-2018). Domus Academy is recognised by QS World University Rankings in the top 3% globally for Art & Design (#62 in 2026), and holds memberships in Cumulus Association and ADI.
The pedagogical model is 'Learning by Designing' — roughly 90% of the curriculum is built around cross-disciplinary workshops with industry brands such as Google, Samsung, PepsiCo, Bulgari, Timberland and Vogue Talents. Master's programmes span Product, Interior & Living, Urban Vision & Architectural, Interaction, Service and Visual Brand Design, plus newer streams in Design x AI and Design Futures.
