Heriot-Watt University Malaysia
Heriot-Watt University Malaysia is the Putrajaya campus of Heriot-Watt University, one of Scotland's oldest universities (founded 1821 in Edinburgh). The Malaysia campus opened in September 2014 with £35 million invested in a purpose-built facility, making it the first certified green campus in Malaysia.
Located in Precinct 5 of Putrajaya — Malaysia's federal administrative centre — the campus sits on a 1.9-hectare lakeside plot and offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees identical in award to those issued by Edinburgh. Graduates receive a UK degree from Heriot-Watt University.
The campus operates four academic units mirroring Edinburgh: School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society, and Edinburgh Business School. Flagship programmes include Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Actuarial Science, Computer Science and the MBA.
