Hofstra University
Hofstra University is a private research university located in Hempstead, New York, 25 miles east of Manhattan on Long Island. Founded in 1935 as an extension of New York University, Hofstra gained independent status in 1939. Today it enrolls approximately 10,685 students across 13 schools and colleges, offering more than 185 undergraduate and 170 graduate program options. The 244-acre campus features 117 buildings, an arboretum, and provides sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline from the Axinn Library.
