IESA — Institut d'Études Supérieures des Arts
IESA (Institut d'Études Supérieures des Arts) is a private higher-education institution founded in Paris in 1985 by Françoise and Jean-Marie Schmitt. The school received state diploma recognition in 1991 and Ministry of Culture certification in 1998, with national-diploma equivalence (art history, archaeology, applied arts, fine arts) granted in 2004. IESA operates two complementary schools — IESA Arts & Culture (art market, cultural events, heritage) and IESA Multimedia (digital design, game design, animation, motion).
Since 2025 IESA has consolidated both schools at Campus Claude-Bernard, 16 rue Claude Bernard in the Latin Quarter (5th arrondissement) — a few minutes from the Sorbonne, the Pantheon, and the Jardin du Luxembourg. The previous historic sites on avenue de l'Opéra and Cité Griset have been replaced by a single modern campus designed for cross-disciplinary teaching between art-market and digital tracks.
Academic strengths lie in three intersecting domains: the art market (auction houses, galleries, expertise — strengthened by the 2018 acquisition of Drouot Formation), cultural events and heritage management, and digital creative industries (game design, motion design, UX/UI). IESA offers state-recognised Level 6 (Bachelor) and Level 7 (Master) titres including 'Expert in Art Commercialization and Distribution' and 'Multimedia Project Manager'.
