University of Nicosia
The University of Nicosia (UNIC) is a private, research-oriented university in Nicosia, Cyprus. Founded in 1980 as Intercollege and granted university status in 2007, UNIC is the largest university in Southern Europe that teaches primarily in English. With around 6,400 students from over 100 countries and an international cohort of 65%, the institution operates eight schools across campuses in Nicosia, Limassol, and Larnaca.
Academic strengths span business, computer science, engineering, law, architecture, education, and international relations. The university is ranked 501-600 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, with School of Business and Economics ranked 176-200 globally. UNIC pioneered the world's first Master's in Digital Currency (Blockchain) and remains a global leader in blockchain education and research.
