University of Nicosia Medical School
University of Nicosia Medical School is the largest medical school in Cyprus and the first one ever established in the country, founded in 2011 by the University of Nicosia. The school operates two campuses — the main Engomi campus in Nicosia and a second campus in Athens — and is fully integrated with the wider University of Nicosia, the largest private university in Cyprus and Southeast Europe.
The Medical School offers five core medical programs: the 6-Year Undergraduate Entry Doctor of Medicine for high-school graduates, the 5-Year Graduate Entry MD (GEMD) for university graduates of any discipline, an MSc in Family Medicine, a Master of Public Health (MPH, fully online), and a PhD in Medical Sciences. The MPH curriculum is aligned with the UK Faculty of Public Health, and the MSc Family Medicine is offered jointly with the University of Patras in Greek.
The school is a member of leading international medical bodies — AMSE (Association of Medical Schools in Europe), WONCA (World Organization of Family Doctors), EUPHA, ASPHER and AMEE — and is an RCSE International Testing Centre and an RCGP qualification provider. Clinical training takes place across affiliated teaching hospitals in Nicosia and Athens, and graduates qualify to practise across the EU and to sit USMLE / PLAB for the US and UK.
