Temple University
Temple University is a public research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded in 1884 by Russell Conwell as a night school for working-class Philadelphians. Today Temple enrols over 30,000 students across 17 schools and colleges, offering 640+ academic programs and holding R1 Carnegie classification for very high research activity. The Main Campus spans 118 acres in North Philadelphia, anchored by Charles Library and the Temple Performing Arts Center.
Temple is best known nationally for Fox School of Business, Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Beasley School of Law, Tyler School of Art and Architecture, and Lew Klein College of Media and Communication. The university maintains professional schools in dentistry, pharmacy, and podiatric medicine, plus a separate Health Sciences Campus housing Temple University Hospital.
