It was founded as Regina College in 1911 after the University of Saskatchewan was built in Saskatoon rather than Regina. In 1934 it became part of that university, but 40 years later, it was established as a university in its own right.</p><p>It has over 16,000 students with approximately 3,000 of them international students from around 100 countries. The University of Regina is one of the top 50 universities in the world that’s less than 50 years old as well as one of Canada’s top 15 comprehensive universities.
