Washington State University
Washington State University is a public land-grant research university founded in 1890 with its flagship campus in Pullman, in the rolling Palouse hills of southeastern Washington. WSU is classified by Carnegie as a doctoral university with Very High Research Activity (R1) and brought in $403 million in research expenditure in FY 2024.
The university comprises 11 academic colleges spanning Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences; Arts and Sciences; Carson College of Business; Edward R. Murrow College of Communication; College of Education; Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture; College of Nursing; College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences; College of Veterinary Medicine; Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine; and the Honors College.
WSU enrolls 25,477 students across six campuses — Pullman, Spokane, Tri-Cities, Vancouver, Everett, and the Global Campus — with 4,077 graduate and professional students. The Pullman campus is famous for its Cougar athletics, the Murrow College of Communication, and historic agricultural and viticulture programs.
