The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is the first international Australian university in the United Arab Emirates, established in 1993 as the Institute of Australian Studies and incorporated under its current name in 2004. UOWD is part of the global University of Wollongong (UOW) brand, with sister campuses in Australia, Hong Kong and Malaysia, and ranks among the top 1% of universities worldwide in the QS World University Rankings 2024.
All UOWD degrees are issued by University of Wollongong Australia and are accredited by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), licensed by KHDA, and audited by Australia's Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). Additional professional accreditations include ACCA, CIM and CIMA. Every UOWD academic holds a PhD from a top-ranked international university.
